The Sharon Faye Foundation in collaboration with the School of Education, Edith Cowan University conducted research in a Western Australian primary school to assess the impact of building Emotional Strength in teachers on teacher burnout, student-teacher engagement and classroom climate.
The results indicated that building Emotional Strength in Teachers reduced teacher burnout; student disaffection, anger, boredom and worry and improved teacher and student engagement.
Despite a small sample size, there were statically significant results on several measures. These results are very encouraging and will be presented in depth at a future Sharon Faye Foundation community lecture.
